Chautauqua Lake trails will be closed due to warm temps and rain in the forecast beginning Sunday 2/3 and will not reopen until conditions improve.

Trails are open with good/marginal conditions in areas. The water has started to go down in most areas and freeze and snow is on top of a hard ice base. Use caution around corners, stay right and stay safe.

Chautauqua Lake trails will open at 9:00 AM Saturday with the exception of French Creek and Clymer that have low snow. Westfield and Brocton are both open. Be aware of some stubborn water holes and ice in places. Ride safe !

CLSC trails are closed at this time, we are getting warm temps and lots of rain at the moment. After the rain has passed and the cold weather returns we will reevaluate conditions and post an update. Stay tuned...

Trails are open and have deep snow. Groomers have not been out yet. Use caution and don't ride alone. The Westfield trail (S-49) below the gas line (S-46) is open. The upper section toward Mayville has a very large tree down that volunteers are trying to cut and move this afternoon. The Brocton trail (C4B) is open from Mayville to Brocton, but toward Stockton there may be some issues such as an unsigned section and possibly trees down. Groomers are going out tonight. Be safe out there.

Chautauqua Lake trails are now opening with the exception of Westfield and Brocton that have low snow. Please use caution as there may be some unknown trail issues. Come visit our club 50th anniversary celebration today Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00

Trails will not open on 12/21 as we had hoped. Mother Nature has hit us again with warm temps and rain. Please be patient and do not ride on closed trails.Thank you, Chris Jaynes, President

Snow on the way!!! Good news for the upcoming snowmobile season, but it's too early right now! Trails are still
officially CLOSED due to hunting and landowner requests to wait until after the hunter's season ends to open
their private land to snowmobile use. Water and mud isn't frozen yet anyhow and many farmer's field have
crops still standing or livestock out with their gates closed.RESPECT the private landowners please! As a
reminder when the season does open. We need about 12 inches of fresh snow to create a 3 inch base to open
the trails. Latest conditions and statuses will be posted here as well as through our text alerts. Please stay off
the trails until you see a message on our website or facebook page that they have opened.

Greeting from Mayville, NY, as we prepare for a monumental season for the Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club. 2018/2019 will mark the 50th year of the C.L.S.C. in Chautauqua County! We are all hoping that Mother Nature once again, blesses us with cold weather, fresh powder and long days of time spent riding the best trail system in W.N.Y.!

We are planning a community celebration on January 19, 2019 at our Club House, located at 7239 Hannum Road, Mayville, NY. During the event we are planning to host a BBQ Cookout that will be free and open to public, a display of the equipment that keeps the trails in shape, snowmobile rides, groomer rides, a display / tour of the new barn building project, history of the club along with meeting of the current members, community members, clubs’ officers and board members.

Other fund-raising activities will include a 55” Big Screen Television raffle, the BIGGEST 50/50 raffle in the clubs’ history and a Chinese Auction. 100% of the funds raised will stay LOCAL with the C.L.S.C. and will be used for the barn building project and the maintaining of the C.L.S.C. trail system. We are hoping that you will help us in the celebration by donating a basket / item for the Chinese Auction. As a sponsor we will include your name and business in our marketing and advertising, have your basket on display at the club house, include your information and item on our web site and Facebook postings AND our unending thanks!

Please feel free to contact Marcus Maloney, Activities Director at, or ANY club officer or Board of Directors for more information.
