Sunday, January 21, 2001 Resource Center Ride: 2:00 p.m. It was colder than the last couple of years. We had fewer Resource Center people this time and they got cold a lot quicker. We had more snowmobiles than ever before. We could have given each other rides, but what was important is that everybody who came had a good time.

Saturday, January 27, 2001 Poker Run: $5 to register beforehand. 100% payout. Started at 12:00 noon 92 sleds registered and participated. Several people said they had never, ever, seen so many sleds at one time down by the depot in Mayville.

Saturday, February 3rd, 2001: set-up for winter drag races
Sunday, February 4th, 2001: winter snowmobile drag races $1,500 Chautauqua Cup/Pepsi Challenge ($1,000 from Pepsi $500 from the club) 282 sleds registered to race in 54 classes !!! Forced to quit racing after 5:30 PM due to darkness. Our apologies to racers whose classes could not be finished before darkness. Entry fees were refunded. Parking was everyplace we could make room and way down one side of the road. Many thanks to the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department for extra patrolling. Some of the work crew started the coffee pot long before a lot of us even woke up. The last of the work crew turned off the clubhouse lights and locked the door at 7:50 PM. The last sign was picked-up at 8:25 PM.
