1991 - 1992 season (no activity card found - are these correct?) Officers:
Bought the first groomer from the U.S. Forestry Service. Lester Lucas has it now and he keeps it going. Installed larger windows installed in the clubhouse to see out the back
better. Feb 9th drag races made $2,241.36 It was decided to earmark $400 in a memorial fund in memory of Tim Mullholland.
Superbowl Sunday, January 24th, 1992. Three venture out onto Chautauqua Lake. The water is cold and can be deep. Ice thickness and quality varies. Too many little creeks feed in and leave open water or thin ice. Sleds go through the ice. Riders pull other riders from the water. A different way back is tried and proves to be even more deadly. Three perish this dark evening.
Club Member Tim Mullholland and two others attended a club dinner ride to Davies Restaurant. They were going to ride back to Mayville across Chautauqua Lake rather than ride the trails back. The Club sent flowers in memory of Tim. |
