Well Mother Nature was a letdown once again in the snow department. Not enough snow fell last night to open the trails this weekend and warmer weather and 50 degree temps are on the way. This will for sure have us starting over once again waiting for the next big storm.

With the little snow also brought out careless riders out riding on our closed trails upsetting landowners. These are in no doubt local riders so they should know better. We continue to express how important it is to stay off these trails until opened. Everyone wants to ride, however there are 1% of riders that don’t think rules apply to them. If you see one of these riders, express your concern to them letting them know they are ruining it for you and your fellow riders that obey the rules.

Making them feel like a second class citizen might be enough for them to get the point!

Trails are currently closed at this time due to no base. We have received a little snow over the past couple days and more expected tonight (1/20) but we don't have enough to open the trail system as of yet. If trails get enough snow tonight we will post a message Saturday afternoon, otherwise please stay off the trails until you see a message saying they are open.

It is Saturday January 14th and trails are OPEN at this time. We have received approximately 12-20 inches of new snow but it is light and fluffy and hard to pack. Trails are in very poor condition due to the unfrozen ground in spots and standing water so please be careful. Also watch for downed trees on the trail and take it easy until we can get some more cold weather and snowbase.

Due to the lack of respect from some riders, landowners have closed a 9 mile stretch of trail from French Creek to Pine Junction and also S52 toward the Busti we have worked over 10 years to put together. These closings put a damper on the season already and landowners will close more trails and prosecute trespassers if the closed trail riding continues. We cannot express how meaningful it is to stay off the trails as we only have so many landowners in our county. The continual lack of respect from a few roage riders will make riding in the county impossible if we don’t have landowner support.

Trails are closed as of 1/2 but it is snowing at this time. A large storm is expected but we need a ton of snow due to the large amounts of water on the trails. Colder weather and snow are coming but conditions are not rideable at this time. This message will update when trials are open.
