We are planning a weekend trip to ride your trails and wondered what our best bet is to start from. We are coming from the syracuse area so dont want to drive any further than need be. Ive read alot about the mayville area but didnt know if there was a closer place thats good to drop off at. Thanks for any advice!

Mayville is a central location and easy starting point for a first time rider of the area. Webbs is a good place to stay where you can park right off the trail. You can get on the trails from towns further south east like Ellington and Randolph but those are outside our club area and I'm not to familiar with places to park or stay out there. There are trails around Forestville/Irving area too if you are coming off 90. Little to far north for me so I haven’t been up that far.

i,ve stayed at webbs, great place and hospitality friendly, with pool and hot tub,was there couple weeks ago with wife and kids had a good time, actualy had a rather large group, everything went very well, also stayed at a bed&breakfast in maple springs on east side of lake about two years ago, that was real nice, but don,t know if it,s still open ,maybe someone can elaborate on that.it was just down the hill from tom,s tavern over looked the lake.maybe called maple springs bed and breakfast, can,t remeber for sure.have a safe trip, enjoy the ride.

I have wanted to make the trip out there for 3 years now and finally am gonna do it. I think webbs will be the easiets for us to get in and out of and id rather stay at a hotel than a bed and breakfast.

Great place to stay for sure and they do have some great food too. Couldnt pick a better time to be on the trails either, just get out early after the groomers are done and you'll have a ball. Be safe out there, there are some tricky spots around for a new rider if your not careful. Most dangers are marked but some bumps can sneak up out of nowhere to buck you off if your not careful.

Just one spot really that I remember like yesterday. Smacked the wind right out of me. I sneak up on that spot like I'm tracking a turkey now. Should get the GPS info on that or take a sign out there with me one of these days. Coming out of the woods right after a crest of a hill on the Mayville Stockton loop somewhere. Anyway... Have fun conditions are great.
